EDAVOR
Legal AI for a multilingual world
What They’re Building
Edavor is building a unified legal AI platform that helps lawyers, compliance officers, and legal teams instantly search laws and precedents, generate and analyze legal documents, receive real-time regulatory updates, and run compliance checks across policies and cases. They are building multilingual legal AI models and systems designed for complex, high-precision regulatory environments.
The Problem
- Legal professionals spend hundreds of billable hours manually digging through scattered legal documents.
- For enterprises, missing a single regulatory obligation can lead to massive fines, yet tracking real-time changes is currently a manual process.
- Most legal AI tools are built for English-speaking markets, which leaves languages like Nepali, Hindi, Sinhala, Arabic, German, etc., underserved.
The Breakthrough
- Multilingual Legal Intelligence: AI systems that understand and preserve legal nuance across regional languages.
- Research-Driven Architecture: Actively researching multilingual legal retrieval and improving the retriever models continuously through real-world feedback.
- Contextual Querying: The system doesn't just find keywords; it understands the situational context of a query to ensure answers are anchored in verified, localized legal databases.
Why This Matters
Instead of spending hours in manual research, legal professionals can focus on what actually matters: legal analysis, building strategy, and making better decisions for clients. With real-time legal updates and deadline notifications, they can stay current without the constant worry of missing something important. The repetitive parts of legal work get automated, which frees them up for the work that requires human judgment.
The Asia-Pacific legal tech market is growing at 17% annually, yet there is a lack of core legal AI models built for multilingual contexts. Current models work well for English but have high error rates for languages like Nepali, Hindi, Sinhala, Bangla, etc, that are spoken by millions of people. Hence, there is a need to build core legal AI models for diverse languages.
